D.Gray-man is the story of Allen Walker, who roams a fictional 19th-century Earth in search of Innocence, a mysterious substance used to fight demons known as akuma.
In the past, Cross Marian wonders if Allen could be Nea’s host, and if so, if he will have to kill him. In the present, Allen’s conscious memories are unreliable, and after taking a truth serum, he falls unconscious. Falling back in time, Allen and Lavi disappear into a ball of Innocence, where Lavi magically fuses his soul with Allen’s, leading to the birth of a new Bookman Jr. a year later. Back in the present, Allen wakes up, traumatized and possibly dying. Then, eleven years later, Allen wakes up in bed in the Rewinding City and meets Lavi, who is watching over him…
